Creating a Verified PayPal Business Account
You can create a new PayPal Business account or convert your existing one to a Business account. PayPal Business Accounts allow you to conduct transactions under a company or group name. There are no setup, monthly, or termination fees for a PayPal Business Account. PayPal only charges a fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
Note that you don't have to have your own business to create a PayPal Business account. When signing up for a PayPal Business account, you can simply set the Business Type to Individual/Sole proprietor.
Please follow the directions mentioned below to upgrade your existing PayPal account to a Business account:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Go to Account settings page.
- Click Upgrade to a Business account.
Once you have upgraded your PayPal account to a Business account, PayPal will need to verify your account. To verify your PayPal Business account, just link your bank account to your PayPal account or be approved for PayPal Smart Connect or the PayPal Plus MasterCard®.
Please follow the directions mentioned below to verify your PayPal Business account:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Click Get Verified on your Account Overview.
- Select the verification method you want to use.
- Enter your information, then click Continue.
- Click Confirm, then click Submit.
To register an account, click here to open PayPal and select the Sign Up link on the main Paypal page. This will direct you to the default PayPal signup page according to your country or location.
Please click Get Started underneath the business account option when prompted for. Next, you may be asked to choose a business account that suits you. Click Get Started under the Standard business account.
Now enter your business information. Bank account details, an address, customer service email as well as personal details for the account operator (that’s you) are all requested. Fill in the form as thoroughly as possible, as PayPal must verify your account and any incorrect information will further delay the process.
If you are given the option, choose “Website Payments Standard” for the free standard account, from the “select Payment solution” menu, though this may or may not appear as an option depending on your region.
Once you have filled out all your business information you will only have to wait a few days before PayPal verifies your account and you can start using it.
Once you've created your PayPal Business Account, you should ensure that it is configured properly to work with Paid Access.
