Which post is used for the topic preview?

In most themes, listed topics show preview text under the topic title. The preview text is for the first unread post in the topic since that's where the user would be taken when they visit the topic. If the topic hasn't been read yet, the first unread post would be the first post in the topic. If the entire topic has been read already, it will use the last post in the topic and take the user there when they view the topic.
