What is a page view?

A page view occurs each time a page is viewed. If your forum generated 3,000 page views, that means the forum was viewed 3,000 times.

AJAX requests, chat room usage, instant messenger usage, single sign on API requests, admin area pages on www.websitetoolbox.com, and files uploaded or downloaded do not affect your page view usage.

Content syndication feeds (like RSS and JavaScript feeds) and API requests do affect your page view usage.

Pages viewed by a search engine while indexing your forum are counted as page views. This is because when a search engine views a page of your forum, our system still has to process the request the same way it would for a normal human. The same amount of memory, CPU, and bandwidth is used.
