Removing the message from post notification emails

If you have private content that you only want accessible on the forum, you can remove the message and attachments from post notification emails. Then users will need to click the appropriate link or button in the notification email to view the message on the forum itself.

If you don't have data security concerns and you just want to force users to visit the forum, we don't recommend making this change. Forcing users to visit the forum to read the message is not user-friendly and will result in less engagement on your forum since some users will not want to take the extra steps required. Making it as easy as possible to read and reply to posts is the best way to quickly grow your forum.

You can follow the instructions below to remove the message and attachments from post notification emails:

  1. Log in to your Website Toolbox account.
  2. Click the Settings link.
  3. In the Settings menu, click the Notifications link.
  4. Enable the Exclude Post Content option. If you don't see that option, ensure that your forum's privacy is set to private or invite-only.
  5. Save your changes.

Alternatively, you can remove only the attachents from post notification emails.
