Making a category private

You can create a private category in your forum that will only be accessible to the administrators, moderators, or a specific group of members. The category could be used to discuss internal affairs, user behavior, forum rules, etc.

To make a category private, please follow the instructions below:

1. Log in to your Website Toolbox account.
2. Click the Categories link.
3. Next to the category you want to setup as private, click on the Manage link and then select the Privacy link.
4. Turn off the toggle switch next to the user groups that you want to prevent from viewing the category.
5. Close the Category Privacy dialog window.

You can also password protect a category, so your users have to provide a password in order to access that particular category.

Alternatively, you can make your entire forum private by following the methods mentioned below:

1. Forcing guest users to log in to view your forum.
2. Enabling password protection for your forum.
