Is the forum embed code search engine friendly?
Yes. If your forum is public, it will still properly be indexed by search engines even if you use the forum embed code on your website.
However, search engines can't read JavaScript embed code, so they will index the unembedded version of your forum instead of the embedded version.
When other people link to pages of your forum, they'll be linking to the embedded version. Search engines can't read the content of the embedded version since it uses JavaScript. So the search engines will consider the content of your unembedded forum pages when ranking you, but they won't be able to consider the number of inbound links. Therefore, if you want to maximize search engine exposure, it's better to link to your forum from your website, customize the domain name, and make the forum match your website layout instead of embedding it.
