Embedding a forum into your Moodle website

You can embed a forum into your Moodle website by getting your forum embed code and then following these instructions to insert the embed code into your Moodle website.

  1. Visit the Moodle website.
  2. Log in to your Moodle website account.
  3. Select the site you want to edit.
  4. Click Actions menu icon on the top right of the page and select Turn editing on.
  5. Click + Add an activity or resource button.
  6. Search Page and select Page to add a new page.
  7. Type in Forum in the Name text box.
  8. Scroll the page down, click Show/hide advanced button and select </> Code icon.
  9. If there is already any code in the text box, delete it all.
  10. Copy your forum embed code and paste it into the text box.
  11. Click Save and display.
  12. Click Site Title on the top right corner.
  13. Click Forum button and copy the link address (By pressing right click on your mouse).
  14. Click Site administration button in the left menu bar.
  15. Click Appearance.
  16. Scroll the page down and click Theme settings.
  17. Scroll the page down and type in Forum| and paste the link address copied above at point #13 in the Custom menu items text box (i.e:Forum|https://moodle.org/forum).
  18. Click Save changes.
  19. Go to your website. A Forum link will now appear in the navigation of your website. Clicking that will open a page with your forum embedded in it.
