thanks guys and gals comments are always appreciated , here is the new updated light pass, if you guys are wondering what the raw file looks like at full res(3076x2304), here it is. The render time was 3h 21m 23s, I'd say not bad for a render that ended up having 25 omnis and 23 LEMs. The trick to make this happen was by carefully selecting which piece of geometry casted shadow and which ones received shadows, also which omni light needed to cast shadow and which ones did not. By doing this kind of selection you can greatly reduce render times.

Wow...that's the first higher res image you are uploading. Light is really good It has a nice warm feel. Any hints on RGB values of the light color you used?

Sure Kris, the values are 231 164 99 but remember that what you are seeing is the combination of light plus texture color, as well as light intensity, here is the texture for the lower hotel floor, so that you can study it. Also, dont forget that I have also introduced some cool lighting(and by cool I mean blue/aqua colored lights) in the middle/second floor of the hotel, doing this makes the warm colors more inviting to the eyes, If the whole image would have been a uniform warm color, you would not get the same effect.

Thanks for the compliments guys, you know that flattery will take you everywhere with me. Faird: its my pleasure to share. This is a really fun project to work on. Silver: Whats next? well let see, as you can see on the first light pass of the yellow zone, the lighting is competing with the hotel lights, by this I mean they are both trying to catch your eyes attention at the same time and you dont know where to look first. When I'm done with this image I want to take the viewer on a journey, starting on the red zone, then it will make you want to look at the yellow zone and then the green zone and then if you liked the journey it will make you want to step back again and start over. If I can pull this off then I have a good image. Wish me luck. Bebek: I have post how to's on pretty much every step of the way on this thread, take a look at all the pages and you will find some cool tips. As far as a PDF I will probable make one but of a much simpler scene but using the same techniques I used for this image. Fella: you crazy guy what part of the title "capri at night" did not give away the fact this was going to be a nite scene.
