Hi. I just experiment with PB and somehow I really miss on option to add some comments on link, more than just to add a label. I found very similar discussion (this one) from one year ago with promise of introducing this feature quite soon. But somehow I cannot see it yet.
I tried comma technique but it seems to be not so much effective for me.
I refresh topic and try to explain what I mean by notes in link on something very easy to comprehend and practical for me but not necessarily for you, but this is only example I can come up with at the moment. I try to keep it simple though my explanatory skills are very lousy!
Lets say I have 2 thoughts on 2 different diseases and only one thought on medication/drug which is used in both diseases but in different context and circumstances. Thereby, I'd like to insert notes in link only specific for relation between ie. drugZ and dieseaseX and vice verse only unique details for relation between drugZ and diseaseY would be in link notes YZ.

It would mean that I don't have to create 2 thoughts for one medication (what would make all deal much simple) and yet I would retain specific information needed in understanding a difference in their relation between Y and X.
I hope this is not too much confusing.

Jan

I agree.

It would be great if we could add a comment box on the links.  Right now I usually solve this by adding a note to one of the thoughts, and a "pointer" label into the link.

However, it would be really nice to be able to hover over the link and read a comment.

I've been trying to figure out a way to do this, as well, so that I can find some way of explaining *why* two things are linked, in case the linkage isn't obvious.

I thought of trying to do an intermediary thought, but that might just complicate things and involve some amount of (potentially unnecessary) duplication.

That exactly what I meant by my unnecessarily extensive example!
Just to explain why things are linked to each other. It may require however quite a lot of explanation, linking or file attaching, pretty as much properties as for a thoughts themselves.

You can add a comment to a link by right-clicking and choose Link Properties and add text to the Label field.

This is true but field for writing is very limited compared to thoughts possibilities. No chance to add any attachments nor to write any longer comment.
I like however, how label is popping up while cursor hovers over the link. It could be as good for thoughts as well.

It sounds like the only work around would be to type the link, create a thought named the same thing, and put all pertainent info (attachements, large paragraphs of informative text, etc). Then on the link, you put a label of "See thought XXXXXXX for details".

At least, until we get notes for links.

Yes I hope as well that more tools for links are on their way!

It is a bit strange that entering text in the Link Label field also affects the name of the link type. That is not the case with Thought Types.

This issue continues in the v5 beta...I cannot create a label that differs from the Link Type -- which seems to defeat the concept of having the link label. An additional note (label) that would appear on mouse-over with the link type would at least fill the void until a more robust type of link (attachments/notes/etc) evolves...

I agree with this, link labels should be more flexible.
