How did you learn about this Seine Bight Website? search for Father Laz

Comments:
Father Laz was still a student priest when he worked in Ballymun in Dublin in Ireland. Ballymun was highly populated with high unemployment and big drug issues in the 80's but father Laz walked through our estate and treated us like we were lifelong friends. I was so saddened at his passing and I regret not finding him sooner. I never got the chance to thank him for making a nervous 11 year confident enough to stand up and read in front of my school mates, their parents, the teachers and my family at my confirmation. That confidence has never left me. God bless you Father Laz, you will be missed.

How did you learn about this Seine Bight Website? research on the Sambula/Lambey family

Comments:

The last time I was in Seine Bight was five years ago. My father(Gerald Sambula) and my uncles and aunt(James Sambula, Clarence Sambula, Nick Sambula, Fabian Sambula, and Mae Sambula) were raised in Seine Bight. It is such a beautiful, calm, and rich place. During my stay, I must commend how the Palacio's values the Garifuna History. Mr. Palacio drove my cousin(Salvatore Kent Sambula) and I to Seine Bight and Dangriga. I am sorry but I forgot his first name, but he stated that him and my father and family are very close and showed the lands on where my father's family grew up and where the Palacio's grew up. He also showed me how cashews are really made from the ground. The bananas were picture perfect!!! This website is the essence of the Palacio's family, they educate anyone and everyone no matter what race you are. One more example, I do not speak Garifuna but my family does and I felt right at home. I even learned a little. In Garifuna, I will explain Siene Bight...Duna(water) Barana(sea) and muya(earth). Balisi, Balisi, Balisi..........................

This site is really refreshing for me and i believe is for hundreds of seinebeidina like myself. but here is food for thought. the village is being lost and to work against loosing it entirely myself and mr. Charles Martinez has come up with ideas to start repair our home town by working with the school and the new village chairman Mr. Palacio. first agenda is to give assistance to St> Alphonsus R.C. It is with this that we call on all seinebeidina for their support. those interested can email me at saylah2@gmail.com or Charles Martinez at martinez@btl.net for detailed information.

Back to The Official Website Of Seine Bight Village

According to MasterFisherman Balbino Palacio, - Seine Bight village was ideal for fishing but the peninsula was not so ideal for farming hence they found it neccesary to cross the lagoon west to the main land for more fertile farming land. They farmed near-by and went as far inland to where it is now George Town (then called Wahaleaf / California).
