Read The South Was Right in 2000 when I was a U.S. Senate Candidate in Ohio. Book changed my world view of American history. Have since become a member of the SCV and am currently the webmaster for http://SCVOhio.org and member of Camp 1535 - General Roswell Ripley Camp.

Virginia has upset me when they decided Blacks did not serve in the Confederate Army and was looking for the proof I know is out there. I already emailed the author of the Washington Post article, but it seems to be growing.

It's not just a 'southern' thing anymore. In truth, it never was exclusively so. Not a few like-minded men from the north saw through all the political spin and went south to fight for our mutual confederate principles. Our enemies have done a very good job using the tools of men like Edward Bernays and Francis Bellamy to brainwash the masses, but let's bear in mind that Almighty God is not constrained to save by many.

For many years, I wondered what "the deal was" with the "Civil War," and suspected that the real cause was economic, not the issue of slavery. Incidentally, I found that virtually ALL historical sources held to a kind of "party-line" about the events and causes of this great (and horrific) war. This revisionist history can be pretty damn tedious, too. Stuff like Bruce Catton's books.
Lately, I have been examining some "alternative accounts" of that war. To my great fortune, I was able to locate some books which provide a dramatically different picture of this war...and of the forces and events which led up to it. Wow, what an education!!
How delightful if we could recruit someone like Oliver Stone to produce a motion picture which provided the real facts and revealed the great forces which moved our country (much of this behind the scenes) into such a crisis. I think it was regrettable that the South seceded, but would suggest that they had the right to do so. Lincoln's assumption of the dictator's (or tyrant's) role was decidedly egregious and unlawful. One might argue that this was the first step in the conversion of the American republic to the American Empire. It is plain that the South was utterly devastated and rendered conquered territory. Scary stuff...and we are still trying to recover from this...and the many subsequent assaults on the country which was founded in 1776. One might even argue that the entire nation is now conquered territory..we are so far removed from a constitutional republic--as my dad used to say...that it isn't funny!!
