Hi and thanks for dropping by,

Not sure there was ever a 68 tonne crusader but I do have a couple rated at 65 tonne.

1 is the ex MOD RE35 and the other is my Detroit engined 65 tonner.

On top of that I also have a 100 tonne Amazon with the Rolls Royce engine.

Where are you based?

All the best

Nigel

Hallo
My dad has a 68t. Crusader.
Has you a 68t. crusader too?

My dad had a Fordson Major Tractor in British Columbia, Canada just west (25 miles) of Prince George, B.C.  I can remember the first time I started the tractor by a hand crank.  I put the throttle to full on and started turning the crank.  It was hard to do as I was less than 10 years old I believe.  But I finally managed to start it and then ran to the side to let off the throttle as it was roaring away.  Memories of your childhood.

Hi Nigel, just seen the new look site for the first time. I am very impressed. I look forward to seeing what you do with the commando. I think i would go more towards the "Brazil" version. All the best with it all. John Harris

Hello there,

Just found you site, do a search for CR100 (Amazon).

You have produced a great site with some very useful info.

I'm restoring Bent Marshall's Amazon, and making very slow progress (been at for about 8 years now ).
If any one has photos of it working i would be very pleased to hear from you, or any Girling Twinstop brake parts (MK3).

All the best
Ian

@nigel

"Roadhouse" yes - thats mine. I´m in progress with the interior - air ride seats and some other useable stuff. A Crusader Forum would be nice with this homepage. If you have interests I´ll send you some pictures of my restoration work.
The axles are working perfect. 55mph at 2100 rpm is a good speed on the autobahn. Keep on trucking!

I found this site very interesting as I drove the Scammell Samson 8 wheel unit for Pickfords and then I drove Crusaders for Sykes Bulk Liquids who ran around 200 Crusaders on tanker work and they were a very under rated wagon as they were quite roomy ( at the time ) and really on top of the job as well
